Sherri McCarter, Executive Director

Sherri was hired in January, 2012 as Executive Director of the Humboldt Chamber of Commerce.  Prior to coming to the Humboldt Chamber, Sherri provided community development services for communities in Tennessee, Virginia and Kentucky.  Her focus was on strategic planning for economic development organizations.  McCarter's economic and community development experience includes 18 years as a regional economic development specialist for the Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development and 7 years with the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce.

Sherri completed the Chamber of Commerce Management Institute, University of Oklahoma, Norman and Basic Economic Development Institute, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta.

McCarter is a graduate of the Delta Regional Authority's Delta Leadership Institute and currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Alumni Board.  She is also a graduate of Leadership Jackson as well as WestStar Leadership Program where she is a past member of the Board of Trustees.

Sherri is a native of Crockett County and holds a BS degree in Business from Lambuth University.  

Cindy Acree, Administrative Assistant

Cindy was hired as Administrative Assistant in August, 2000.  She is responsible for not only the daily routine office duties within the chamber, but also serves as a liaison with the chamber committee chairpersons; and assists the Executive Director with event planning and other projects as needed.

Cindy is also the coordinator of the West Tennessee Strawberry Festival.  She is married to Ron and has two sons who are in the U.S. Army and are currently serving overseas.
