bizrevloaniconProgram Objectives

Grant funds have been provided by the United States Department of Agriculture to offer revitalization loans to approved applicants for the purpose of improving the appearance of buildings in the Humboldt Business Districts. The intent is to offer the loans to business and property owners at an interest rate lower than what may be available from conventional lending sources.

The ultimate goal is to revitalize business properties in Humboldt by creating a fresh and consistent look which should attract new merchants and customers thereby increasing the revenues of all businesses.

Eligible purposes for loan funds: Exterior and interior improvements to business properties, including site enhancements and signage, equipment additions or upgrades, other approved purposes that promote employment and business development will be considered.

Eligible Businesses

Business properties located in the city limits of Humboldt shall be eligible to apply for the Business Revitalization Loan funds.

Loan Specifications

1. Each loan will be limited to a maximum of $20,000.
2. Each business property will be eligible to apply for one (1) loan.
3. The application may be submitted by the property owner or by the lessee with the consent of the property owner.
4. A business plan must be submitted with the application.
5. The maximum loan term will be one hundred and twenty (120) months.

The Application Process

Complete applications with necessary documentation should be returned to the attention of the Humboldt Business Development Board, in care of the Humboldt Chamber of Commerce, 1200 Main Street, Humboldt, TN 38343. Applicants must submit all documentation deemed necessary for loan consideration and should be prepared to meet, in person, with the Board if a meeting is determined to be necessary.

Applicants will be notified by the Board president as soon as a decision is made on their loan request. Applications will be processed in as timely manner as possible.
